About Us and Our Mission

The Motorcycle Safety Association is a State of Michigan Non-Profit corporation. The U.S. Treasury Department has determined the Association is a charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are therefore tax deductible to the extent the law allows.

The persons that act as Training Officers for the Association are experienced riders and serve as volunteers. There are no paid officers, directors or employees of the Association.

The Motorcycle Safety Association’s mission is the development of on-the-road training seminars that will help address this and other serious safety issues.

The seminar program was developed in cooperation with experienced riders that focus on techniques that will enhance safety in curves. There is a written study outline, then an online Zoom session to review and answer questions, then 2.5 hours of twisty road riding. Each seminar is limited to six students and has a minimum of two Training Officers.
